Wish List

Dear Friends,

We have decided on a wish-list of our own in order to help well-wishers in deciding their gifts for this occassion. This is also to avoid us receiving gifts which will be of less use to us. Mind you, it is not that we do not appreciate your efforts & thoughts for us. We just don't want money to be wasted nor to keep double of each item we already have in our little house.

If you would like to give us a gift from the items below, please let us know. We will, perhaps be able to advise on where or how to get them.Please note that for some of the gifts, you may need to chip in with other friends as well. We encourage you to do that.

We would like you to know that we do not expect anything from our guests except for your wonderful presence in our joyful occassion. Please come with an open heart to eat, drink, talk, laugh & share our happiness together. We thank you for being there for us throughout the good and bad times.

WEDDING WISH LIST

Just some gift ideas. Friends, these are just some things that I need/ want. However, you may opt to buy other gifts that you like also. Tq.

1. A Sony DVD Player

2. A set of Body Shop bath & body products. (loves the body scrub)

3. Since we wouldn’t be going anywhere for honeymoon anytime soon, 2 PREMIUM Movie Vouchers at Cathay Cineplex Damansara would be really great & useful for us.

4. A chocolate fountain machine!

5. A small 2 tier fridge.

6. A pretty white/black/brown side table lamp, medium size. You can find nice table lamps at G.D.O Midvalley or even at any lamp shops.

7. A fancy stylish clock wall (check out Room, they might have a nice one there)

8. A Panasonic vacuum cleaner

9. A simple white/brown hanging photo frames. It can be found at IKEA Damansara. The frame has few partitions so you can insert 3,4 pictures in the same frame. You can also find it at Living Quarters.

10. A DVD Collection shelf. You can find it at IKEA Damansara. White/ brown color.

11. We love going to Chilli’s. We would be delighted if we were to get gift vouchers from it!;)

12. A gift set from Crabtree & Evelyn. I have been wanting to try this product!

13. A pretty 3-tier cupcake glass stand. Been searching for it...

14. A BBQ set. You can find it at ACE hardware store e.g in Pyramid or Midvalley.

Simple steps to a blissful married life

Newly-wed couples are actually entering a new phase of their lives. Romance and communication are still an important part to keep the love flame alight for a lifetime.

However, communication must come with understanding and acceptance; the important foundation to a blissful married life.

Here are 4 simple steps for a blissful marriage:

• Be Realistic

Maybe it is that romantic Korean drama, or that Jane Austen novel with the sweet happy ending. Whatever reason it is, some people tend to think of marriage as a bed of roses, and expected the ideal perfection from their other half.

But, as quoted, in the harsh reality, marriage is far from being a paradise. Marriage means preparing to form a new family, and taking up the responsibilities as well. Food, laundry, house chores, household expenses, childcare, and children’s education eventually; these are the things that every married couple will eventually need to face, and it is not easy.

Also, people are not perfect, including your other half, which is why some couple never got married long. They expected the impossible ideal, and refused to accept their spouses’ imperfection.

• Be Mentally prepared

As we mentioned earlier, marriage is a new phase in life; which means sharing your life with another person for as long as you live. And it definitely is different from the life of a single person, which is why couples need to be mentally prepared. Sometimes, newly-weds may need the time to get use to their new life, especially the ladies, who will have to learn to live with her husband’s family, if they are living together in the ancestral home.

Starting a new family, and living with previously complete strangers are new challenges, and the right state of mentality brings out the best results.

• Be Intimate

One of the most important aspects in marriage, sexual fulfillment can affect the quality of a couple’s married life. Thus, no harm in exploring and knowing more about the intimate side of marriage!

A marriage lacking sexual satisfaction is heading towards an end. So, share your fantasies with your spouse, explore together and don’t be shy! This is a little step in achieving the perfect marriage.

• Be Patient

When a marriage is rushed, it wouldn’t be the best. As quoted, marriage is the harvest, from the seeds of love. It must be harvested only when it the time is right for the best results. A marriage rushed is like a harvest done before the fruit ripens. How could 2 strangers share their lives forever when they aren’t even sure if he or she is their Mr. Right or Mrs. Right?

In fact, statistics have shown that hastily tying the knot is one of the reasons for divorce. Therefore, give more time for each other to contemplate, understand before deciding to tie the knot. Only when love matures, will the marriage be perfect.

2 weeks more to go..

I can't believe I'm going to finish my bachelorette period in 2 weeks time..gosh, what am I thinking! haha. The days of having my me-time will be gone! I, in fact have analysed this issue thoroughly for the past one week before going to ZzzZzz.. and realized that by me getting married will not change my life 360 degrees. This is simply because I have spent like 80% of my outing time with my fiance&friends so there will not be this crap like since I'm a wife, I can't go out & things like that. The advantages of knowing each other for quite some time makes us understand each other better & thus he understands that I love going out for movies&good food where as for him, chilling with friends till late at night is a must. I have decided and told him recently, just because he is a husband, I will not constraint his social activities. With NO terms&conditions. good eh! I read in an article, it says..Compromise is the key to happiness!

Let's start the countdown peeps!

Yes, it's 28 more days to go.. While I juggling with heavy work load, I still have to keep myself updated with the wedding preparation that is mostly done by my mom now. On my part, I THINK I have done everything. Maybe there's a lil bit more to do but I'm relieve I've done the big bulk of the wedding preparation. Last Sunday, I went to Amcorp Mall to do the bridal henna. I was very excited as it was my first time doing it on my hand. I have always liked henna and thinks that it is something special that should be put on the wedding day. I thought I wanted the girl to just do it on the wedding day but she insisted that I should try it on first just in case I don't like the work or the color of the henna on my skin. It took her 1 hour to draw just a simple drawing on my right hand. Since I was so excited I didn't even keep track of the time but I knew it was long because I could see Helms sleeping beside me! Wanna see my henna..

Note: This is just a test on my hand. Drawing may differ on the actual day. Drawing will definitely be on all the fingers except on the wedding ring finger.

'The AKAD NIKAH Dress'

After watching The Incredible Hulk movie, I shoot to Ampang Point to send Helms kain baju melayu for the Akad Nikah ceremony. I have sent mine earlier so I went there also for fitting my dress. I was really excited to try it but at the same time scared..if it'll make me look FAT since it's white. Plus, I've gained weight this past few weeks. Anyway, for some of you who's planning to do baju kahwin or even baju raya please visit this boutique at Ampang Point, Citra by Iszal. He's a really good designer, he did a good job on the beading. I was really impressed! It's a bit pricey though but for you people who does not mind paying for beautiful beadings I can assure you he's superb at it. So what did he do to my dress to make it look beautiful? He put a three layer at my dress just to make it 'terletak' on the body, they call it as well as more fitting to the body. Three layer means the dress is layered with satin and then with chiffon. Oh yeah, any enquiry please put it at my comment column k. So, check it out The Akad Nikah Dress!

The Ring Day!

Yesterday was a ‘Ring Day’. Helms and I went to scout around for his wedding ring in KLCC. It was easier to bring the person itself to the shop so that we can see which ring suits him the best. It’s different when you see it on its own and when you wear it on your finger. Well, there was no one ring in particular that we liked yesterday, maybe because they all look nice. Plus, I feel like our hunt for the ring is not over yet so we could not confirm to buy any of the rings…yet. There was no like love at first sight when I looked at those rings. I do believe love at first sight you know when it comes to buying stuffs. There’s like this deep inner feeling telling you that that’s THE ONE! But at first you’ll try to resist it by saying to yourself that we should check out other stuffs first just in case there is better deal at other places but you just know it that at the end of the day you’ll come back to that particular love-at-first-sight stuff. Funny eh. Thank God there has been no one telling me ‘Hey! Be a man!’...Haha. You would understand me if you have seen Russell Peter. Should really check him out. One cool funny dude! Anyway, back to the story (as always me liking to deviate from the main story, don’t mind me yeah) our first stop was Bvlgari. The boutique representative, Wan was very friendly. Though it was a high-end brand, he made us feel comfortable being at the boutique. There was a single band ring with its brand name written at the side of the band. It looked unique. I kinda like it. Our next boutique was Cartier. I’m a particular kinda person when it comes to service. I believe that when you’re at a branded store, or a posh restaurant you should be treated nicely, the service must be good and efficient. The reason it is expensive is because we not only pay for the price of the product or food per se but also for the service. Thus, it must be good or else it’s not worth paying. I must say that Cartier’s service is extremely good. We were well treated. They offered us drink, they even gave us jewellery catalogue, watch catalogue and the latest Tatler magazine. We checked out the Love collection, at first I didn’t quite like the design. However, after Helms put at his finger I was surprised, as it looked pretty nice. I might consider buying that. We also went to Piaget, I would say the rings are all okay but not really my type. Plus, the boutique representative was not that attentive towards us and that really turned me off. So Piaget is out of the question. If you peeps have any place in mind that you think the rings are nice, please leave a comment yeah so I might just check out the place. As of now, I have not made up my mind which ring I should buy. I definitely need to see more rings!

The all-goes-well day!

Yeap! Indeed it was the all-goes-well day for me yesterday:) I was supposed to have an appointment with Jovian only yesterday but ended up meeting a few other people whom I never intended to meet. Well, I consider yesterday as my lucky day. Huhu. Lyana was partner of the day and I must say that she did a tremendous job as my partner! Thanx babe. It was hell of a fun day. Anyway, we dropped by Cosry before meeting with Jovian. I have always wanted to see Cosry's work since I know they are really good in heavy beadings. I love beads, lots of beads! When we arrived, we were greeted by the Exec Director, Putra. He was very friendly, to the extent that he made me feel like I've known him for years! Their work in beadings are superb! There were a few lovely wedding gowns on the patungs and each&every one of it had full beadings for the top. I became rambang mata, didn't know which one that I like most because honestly all of them were lovely. Like Cinderella's dress;) Pic below: Me & Putra


Not long after that, Pak Abu, the famous wedding decorator came to the boutique. Apparently his showroom is situated above Cosry's boutique. It was really a fate for me to meet Pak Abu. My mom have been telling me to make an appointment with Pak Abu but since I was extremely busy with the final exam, I did not bother to look out for his no. and make an appointment. At that instant moment, I told Pak Abu that my mom have been wanting to make an appointment with him but I just didn't have time to find him. How was he? Well, if u think I'm loud, he's louder! Hehe. We talked a lot about how my wedding concepts would be, he even gave me suggestions on how my wedding dress should be. Putra and Lyana, on the other hand were laughing all the way seeing us arguing on the design of my wedding dress. Pak Abu took us to his showroom and showed us some of his bunga telor. There were a few lovely ones that attracted my eyes but I have yet to decide which one I would go for, for my bunga telor.

Shortly after that, we went to Jovian's boutique for the appointment. Thought of just checking out his design and how he is as a person. I ended up liking his design as well as him as he was really cool. He has very good PR skills unlike some other designers who think they are famous enough that they do not need to impress the clients with a high degree of courtesy and the PR skills. Especially in my case, I went there as a student but yet he treated me very well and the service was really good. Well, I guess it's worth the price paying for his couture. Jovian is a jovial person. Rhymes very well huh. Anyway, he asked me how I wanted the dress to look like as in modern or traditional? I told him I want it to look fresh, unique and most importantly something that is not cliche. He did a very nice sketch for my wedding dress. I was really impressed the fact that we gave him 10 mins to think and sketch my wedding dress. When I saw the wedding dress he drew, I felt like he knew what I was thinking coz some of the details for the top and the sarung was just perfect like how I wanted it to be. I just love it! Then we bumped into Kak Nita (Anita Sarawak) right before we said bye to Jovian. It turned out to be an enjoyable day for both of us and we were like so hyper all the way..


Since we had a very nice day meeting all sorts of people, we decided to treat ourselves with a nice sweet dessert. We ended our day with an extremely nice dessert that I would crave for like 24/7 and that would be none other than....Molten Choc Cake @ Chilli's. Yeay!!

Busy! Busy! Busy!

Hola peeps! It has been a busy week for me. Didn't have the time to add any posts lately. So now I'm gonna tell you things that I've done, places that I've been, peeps that I've met. Here goes...

Last week, I went to Jovian Mandagie's boutique just to check out the place and the design. I ended up making an appointment with him after being much persuaded by Kak Yani, the person who is in charge of taking care of the boutique. Since there was no one at the boutique, Faha, Lyana and I had a fun time taking pics at every angle of the boutique (well, it was as well as due to lots of support from Kak Yani of course!) We thought of heading to Cosry after that but since it was closed we headed to Delicious at Bangsar Village, just to munch something before we head back home. It was a long tiring day. Will update you on the next appointment.
